I'd been suffering from a bad infection the last week or so. I'm afraid it is a common thing being on dialysis. Getting stuck with large needles 3 times per week means bacteria will sneak in every once in a while.

I always feel super-human after the infection goes away. Probably partly because, yes, I am weaker during that time, but also because it forces me to rest and I am usually in enough pain that it forces me to ignore everyone around me. This helps because I have a very limited amount of both brain power and body power. Even being on the telephone is draining for me.
